As you are preparing for your move, getting rid of the clutter will not only save you time but also money.  Weeding through your things and eliminating clutter before your move will save you time by avoiding packing things you do not need and save you money by not having to pay to transport them.

Getting rid of the clutter is especially helpful this time of year.  Donating your extra items will qualify you for tax deductions next year.  It will also help you help others by providing things they may need during the holiday season.  If you have non-perishable food that you do not want or can move with you, consider donating it to your local food bank or contacting a great organization called Move for Hunger.  They will work with local movers in your area to collect your non-perishable food while they pack.  They will then deliver your food to your local food bank.  It is a great time to give back to the community before you leave.

Making the extra time to go through your things will be worth it in the long run.  Furthermore, the extra time constraint may get you to part with things faster.
